Why You Should Find A CSA Program And What It Is

Spring is right around the corner and I am so ready for it!  I am still in Palm Beach and it feels like summer down here.  Warm weather and sunshine just make me happy.

Fresh Food

Another great thing about the warm weather is the fresh foods that start growing in Alabama.  Have you heard of CSA?  Do you know what it stands for?  It is Community Supported Agriculture.  My friends at Stone Hollow Farmstead started one in the Spring of 2014.

CSA Program

All of the fresh and sustainable products come from local farms.  It is so exciting because each week I get different products.  I have tried things that I hadn’t even heard of before.  They also have different recipes to go with all of the diverse items I receive each week.  I have learned so much!

CSA Program

It is important to me to have fresh produce and eggs to go along with my health and wellness journey.  Food is so critical to our health.  It can harm us or help us.  It depends on where it comes from and how much it is processed.

I am more aware of what I am eating than ever before.  There is a difference in taste, smell, and how it looks.  As I have become more mindful of how I eat and what I put into my body, I feel so much better.  As I have gotten older, I have realized that not only do I want to look good but I want to feel good also.

I could go on and on about the benefits of a great CSA program, but I think you get it.  If you are in Birmingham go ahead and sign up for your CSA subscription with Stone Hollow Farmstead right here. It starts March 6.  If you don’t live in Birmingham but want to find a CSA program just google it in your area.

My favorite fresh food is tomatoes.  What is yours?
