Reading is a hobby of mine. I wanted to share the best books I have read this year.
I wasn’t always a reader. In fact, when I was younger and in school, I don’t remember liking to read at all. It wasn’t until I had children that I became a reader.
Thinking back, I believe the first books that I really started reading were self-help books when I was struggling in my first marriage. It was like I couldn’t get enough. One book that I refer to and share with people is the book Boundaries by Henry Cloud and John Townsend. I think I have read every one of their books.
This year I was in a book club so my reading expanded to fiction and memoirs. The books I read in the book club I probably would not have read but I am so glad that I did. It has really expanded my reading. Self-help is still my go to and my most favorite one of the year is Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis.
Below you will find more of the best books I read this year and loved.
Taking time for yourself to read is a form of self-care. It is also a way to grow and expand yourself. Forming a book club is a great way to work on your friendships as well as work on yourself. Check out my post here on Building Friendships Through A Book Club.
If you are looking for the ONE best book to read in 2019 that will change your life you MUST read Girl, Stop Apologizing. It is not out yet, but you can pre-order it here. I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy. This is one of those books that I will read over and over again.
I am about to start reading High Performance Habits by Brendan Burchard. I have heard so many good things about this book. It will be a great way to get my 2019 started.
