Reinventing Yourself with Dr. Sarah Milken

Keeping it Real about Reinventing Yourself with Sarah Milken

This episode with Sarah Milken is a ball of laughter mixed with a lot of inspiration. Sarah says it how it is and talks about topics many shy away from which is one of the reasons I’m so drawn to her! Today she’s telling us all about her midlife remix as she likes to call it.

She grew up in a house with two equal earning parents who had full-time careers. Her career driven mother was her inspiration so she went to school, and got her master’s and PhD while working full time. When her first baby came, everything changed. Suddenly she knew she wanted to be home to raise her children and be a full time mom.

Sarah talks about the process of switching gears from full-time mom to career mom and coming back to things that bring her life. Finding things you love and making time to pursue those is a necessary part of the motherhood transition. Doing that BEFORE the children leave the nest can make it a whole lot smoother! It’s never too late to keep reinventing yourself and if you need that reminder, this episode is for you!

And the mainstream wellness advice I was following was not for women my age but for women years younger. I also realized very quickly that there is no one formula that works for all women. We are all different and need a customized approach. This aha moment was the first step to my transformation…
