Don’t Wait Until You Are “In shape” To Workout

Spring is right around the corner.  Have you put your workout on the back burner?  Well, it is time to get yourself ready for the warmer months and get back on track.


One thing I hear a lot is, “I need to get in shape before I go to the gym or to a group class.” Or “I need to lose weight before I start working out.” That is simply not true.  The best thing you can do for yourself is to find a community and jump into a class.

My friend Meredith (The Southern Source) and I decided to show you that you can do MPower at any level.  MPower is pilates on steroids.  It is not easy but the good thing is there are different modifications based on your level of fitness. There are two locations in Mountain Brook and Crestline Park. They have an intro class as well as a basic’s class.  I would recommend starting with one of these classes.

You can also take private lessons if you feel like you need more attention.  I like the group classes the best.  One of my favorite classes they offer is a cycle and mega class.

Mpower is not only for women but men can do this too.  They have several men who do this class.
