Things are different in the second half of life, which means we have to do things differently, including how we exercise. If you’re sticking to the same things you did in your 20s and 30s but noticing it’s depleting your energy then it’s time to make a change! Let’s talk about a few exercises that boost energy in your 40s, 50s, and beyond!
Exercises that increase my energy
Before I share what works for me, I need to call out the lie that more is better when it comes to exercise. So often people think they need to go after it harder when what once worked doesn’t anymore. In reality, they’re missing what their bodies are saying. Overdoing it is actually depleting our energy.
We need a reset to re-energize.
If you’ve been following me for some time, you know that I’m a big fan of Pure Barre. When I take a Pure Barre class, do strength training exercises, go on long walks, or take restorative yoga classes I feel energized throughout the day.
When I started paying close attention, I noticed if I went for a long cardio session or took hot yoga classes I felt depleted.
