I hope you had a Very Merry Christmas! I want to show you that fashion over 50 can be fun. I love to take classic pieces and pair them with trendier pieces. This year might be your year to step out of the box and try something new. Fashion over 50 doesn’t have to be boring.
Fashion over 50
I fell in love with Veronica Beard a couple of years ago when my friend Cathy, from the Middle Page Blog, introduced me to her designs. It wasn’t until last year that I bought my first Veronica Beard Jacket.
These jackets are so versatile because you can zip a variety of different dickeys in them to change the look from casual to dressy. The one that I am wearing is the scuba jacket. It is wrinkle resistant so it is great for traveling. Also, it is super comfy. This jacket can be worn all year long as a layering piece. It is very classic yet sporty. It also comes in black, navy, white, and the Bordeaux is on sale for half price.
I chose the grey hoodie dickey to go with this casual look. I also bought the black cashmere dickey to dress it up and wear with some of my black pants or skirt. It would even pair well with a black dress. Army green and black together are one of my favorite combinations. The dickeys offer so many options.
I wanted to add a little more color to this outfit with this beautiful silk scarf by Elizabeth Gillett. Check out her website and see all of her designs. A scarf is a great accessory that can change any outfit. This is one of my favorite.
Classic Meets Trendy
I did go out on a limb (for me) and added the earrings. When I think of fashion over 50, I would not have thought about these tassel earrings but I have to say I love them with this outfit. They are so much fun and add a little unexpected with a classic jacket. It’s fun to try things that you normally wouldn’t.
What do you think of these glasses? I have had so many people, especially my husband, tell me I don’t look like myself with the glasses. I really need to wear glasses more often as my eyesight changes with my age. There are so many great glasses out there for fashion over 50.
One last thing, these boots. I love them! They are not only comfortable they are one of my favorite colors, army green, and they are velvet. The lug sole is a plus too. Lucky for you they are on sale.
After Christmas Sales
Now that Christmas is over, there are more sales than ever. Maybe it is time to buy yourself something special and show yourself a little self-love.
