Watermelon and Summer go together. Today is the first day of Summer so Meredith (The Southern Source) and I teamed up together to bring you a refreshing summer Watermelon and Feta Salad that you can make for your friends and family.
Summer Superfruits
So is watermelon a summer superfruit? I would like to think it is. I found this article on all the health benefits of watermelon. After reading a little more about this superfruit, I have found that it is a nutrient-dense food. It provides high levels of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants and just a small number of calories. That is music to my ears.
When I first started the keto diet to lose 10 pounds (check the post out here), I avoided all fruit. The reason I decided to eliminate fruit from my diet was of the added sugar. However, I have slowly added back in small amounts of fruit because of the nutrients I can get, especially from superfruits.
Another one of my favorite summer superfruits is blueberries. Blueberries are an anti-aging powerhouse fruit with so many benefits including enhancing your brain health. Did you see my post on Tuesday, 3 Things You Can Do To Improve Your Brain Health? Check out this article on the top 7 benefits of blueberries.
Watermelon And Feta Salad
Here is the recipe for the Watermelon and Feta Salad. It is so good!
This Salad is so easy to make, even I can do it. It is one you can make up ahead of time and serve it at a picnic or even for a fancy dinner party. I love it for a luncheon with your girlfriends.
With hot summer days, a light refreshing Watermelon and Feta Salad is a perfect way to cool things off.
