One thing that is often overlooked in the wellness journey is your mindset. Taking time to upgrade your mindset can have many health benefits and it’s one of the pillars of my Balance Program. Below are 5 ways coaching can help you improve your mindset.
Gain Clarity with Goals
Being connected to your “why” as you set goals is the key to success. In the first week of Balance, we take time to get specific on your why. For example, if your goal is to lose weight I guide you in taking that even further to explain “I want to lose weight so I can get off my medications and have more energy to play with my grandkids”. When you connect your goal to your why your motivation increases and your mindset shifts. This is foundational.
Improving our mindset takes a lot of discipline and it can be overwhelming to break well-worn paths in your mind on your own. Through the consistent connection and support of a coach, you can see your circumstance more clearly and feel bolstered as you work through challenges. Reveals Blind Spots
Another way to upgrade your mindset is through knowledge. When we know better, we do better. We all have blind spots in our lives, and through the support of a coach, some of those blind spots are brought to light. This insight empowers you to make better choices on your own.
You’re Not Alone
In the middle of difficulties, it’s easy to go into a downward spiral and believe we’re alone in our experience. Maybe we think we’re different than everyone else; no one else is struggling like us. The truth is, we’re all a lot more alike than we realize and that’s the beauty of the Balance group. Women in the group are always encouraged by listening to the stories of the other women because they can see parts of their own stories in it. I think we all want to know we aren’t alone in our struggles and this program is a way to know that.
Go to the Root
Real change won’t take place in our thoughts and actions if we don’t dig deep and get to the root. This can be an intimidating process. In Balance, I create a safe environment for you to take an honest look at your patterns and together we put actionable steps in place to create new behaviors.
